SISTERS

This past weekend my extended family and I celebrated my Poppa's 80th birthday (pictures and layouts to come). My little sister and I took a selfie that I just LOVE and when I saw the new sketch over at Stuck?! I knew they were a perfect match.

Here's the layout:

I used a color scheme for this layout that I've never really used before, having papers that I really just wanted to use but I love how all the colors came out and worked together to make a really summery look.

Oh, and here's the sketch from Stuck?! that I used:

Babes

A month ago now, I celebrated turning 19 and did so with a couple of my best girls and a barbeque. Sadly, mother nature decided it would be a good time for Auckland to experience a downpour. Most of the evening was spent in the lounge taking photos (the majority of which were silly and will soon be put to paper). I made this layout of group shots using a sketch over at sketchabilities.

I'm really so lucky to have great friends and to still be so close to them after a year of uni, traveling and work. I love them dearly.

Here's the sketch i used:

X-factor

A while ago now, my best mate Zoe got us tickets to the final of X-factor (X-factor New Zealand, that is) and even though i hadn't been following the show, I had the most absolutely amazing time. So, of course, I had to scrap it.

I apologize for the quality of the picture, as it's been taken in my scrapbook. I based it on this sketch from stuck?! and made use of my new thickers!

Instagram, Coffee and Friends

Hey Y'all,

THis is my entry to this week's CSI challenge. Last week, I tried, but it just did not happen for me. This week, it went slightly better.

The colors:

My page:

I loved this scheme and enjoyed doing it. The picture I used, of my empty coffee cup, is one of my favs and off my instagram, which I use FAR too much. :P

Amen.

It was just yesterday that I saw the new color challenge over at Scrapfriends and i was so excited that I did the page in about half and hour (not counting all the little things added after). The picture I used is one of my baby cousin (now about twelve) about seven or eight years ago. The colors for this challenge are just gorgeous but I found it difficult to find a picture to match. I might try again with a different picture later :P that's how much I love this color scheme.

The colors:

My Layout:

These colors are just so cute and adorable! Raa! Just like the pic of my cousin saying grace. The words underneath are the lyrics to 'the thankfulness song' by veggietales as it seemed relevant and is one of my favorites.

I look forward to seeing how everybody else has used these colors!

Happy Scrapping!!

Bye Bye Anna

I enjoyed so much working on the most recent sketch over at scrapfriends with my newest scrapbooking kit from American Crafts and my old red alphabet stickers. I love how it turned out.

The Sketch:

My take:

This page is dedicated to Anna leaving NZ to go live in Germany and the journalling talks about how I hope we'll all manage to stay friends (a little cheesy yes, but true). True friends are forever.

Happy scrapping!

Happy Forth of July!

It might be a tad late to wish you a happy Independence day, but I hope you had a great one. Although I am kiwi born and bred, I lived in Boston for a little bit when I was younger, and even though my time there was short, it's played a big part in me becoming who I am. For this reason, me and the fambam enjoy celebrating even down here in NZ.

When I saw the case file over at CSI, I was immediately excited to use it for my forth of July pages. Here it is:

I really liked the tiny bit of green as it refreshed the palette.

My first page shows me and my dad chowing down on some Carl's Jr. Its really the only (fastfood) place in NZ where you can get a decent, American sized burger, as burgers in NZ seem to just be tiny.

My second page shows the food we ate and fireworks (not ours as i didn't get any good pictures sadly), but the thought is there. It seems New Zealanders don't recognize the 4th at all as out neighbors got rather annoyed with us. oops.

I hope you and your families all enjoyed the holiday, celebrating freedom and democracy.

Happy Scrapping

Long time no scrap

Hey y'all,

I've got to apologize for not posting in so long. A lot has gone on in my life recently. Me and my boyfriend broke up, I've started Uni, and I've been working really hard. It sucks that all that has made it near impossible for me to scrap. But now it is Uni holidays and here I am, scrapping.

I've brought out my big scrapbook and started doing layouts from sketches/color challenges online to ease me back into things.

My first layout is for sketchabilities sketch #94, here's the sketch:

I decided to use this sketch to scrap some of my pictures from summer. These photos were taken just outside Raglan, a big surf town in NZ, at Bridal Veil Falls. Me and the fambam went out there for a bit of a hike and to marvel at the beauty of God's creation.

I hope you like my page :) and trust me, there are plenty more to come!!

Happy Scrapping!

Pool Party!

Every year, since the building of her pool, my mate Lisa has thrown a pool party, the party being in italics as she prefers the term intimate get together :P but no matter the name it's always a fun time and this is the page i've made for it in my journal

I like the colours that i used, they're so fun and i feel this is one of the first pages i've done that doesn't just look like trying to scrapbook in a journal but like... idk, not a smash book, but a scrapjournal? idk. never mind my ramblings.

This page was based upon a sketch from sketchabilities, i'm always a huge fan of their sketches and this one was no exception. i made the pictures on the left a little smaller and the one on the right a little bigger.

I love this sketch so much I see myself using it for another page I'm working on at the moment :)

hope you like and happy scrapping xx

Rashmica's eighteenth! again!

So i've been meaning for a while to scrap/smash/whatever it is I do, Rashmica's birthday and when i found this sketch over at ScrapFriends, I knew it was perfect. Here's the sketch:

I love this so much and actually used it for a few of my pages, to be out up at a later date, but this is my entry to the sketch challenge.

So yeah, there it is, no journaling yet as i have yet to get my white pen and i don't want to ruin it with black, but as the challenge finishes today it's up here early. i may eventually get around to putting up the finished version :P

happy scrapping y'all xx

Parachute!

This weekend just been I went away with my girls to the biggest music festival housed in the Southern hemisphere, Parachute Christian music festival and it was amazing! My page below is yet another digital page using some elements from the CSI case 20. It features a pic of me and Arianne on one of the first nights before the festival had reached full blaze.

The color scheme I used was curtesy of scrapfriends and is my entry into their color palette challenge #9. I love these color schemes and it fit the festival theme perfectly.

I hope you like it xx happy scrapping.

More Digi

I have been lazy recently, i admit. And for that, I apologize greatly. Of late, I have been doing a lot more digital scrapbooking, just because its quicker and allows me to change the page quicker.

This page is my most recent. Based around pictures of a party that i went to to celebrate my friends eighteenth birthday.

This is my entry to the 84th sketch challenge over at sketchabilities. I've been meaning to use one of their sketches for a while now, but they've never turned out quite how i wanted them to. This one, on the other hand, i absolutely adored, and i feel i did it justice :)

Here's the sketch:

Oh, and just incase you can't read it, the journalling reads:
"We had a great day celebrating
Rashmica's eighteenth birthday"

hope you like it and happy scrapping
